I can't believe it's already Thursday. The week may be winding down, but it's just the right time to kick out the jams and listen to some new toonz. Here we go:

Here's a really rad video of Periphery drummer Matt Halpern just jamming on the streets of Austin, TX during South by Southwest. Of course, we've been posting a ton of new videos every day from our time down there. Check those out here.
Bereft is a band we've written about, and are way into. The LA doom quartet have premiered a track on Noisecreep. Definitely worth a listen after a few hits from the bong.
Speaking of hits from the bong, after you listen to Bereft, take a pull of instrumetal masters Pelican's new album, streaming in full at the A/V Club.

Here's a new track from Cancer Bats.
Attention aficionados of slam, Disfiguring the Godess, the new band from producer/frontman Cam "Big Chocolate" Argon have premiered a new track over at MetalSucks. It brings the heavy.
I normally would never write about P.O.D., but they've apparently got a new track with Jamey Jasta doing some guest vocals on it, so I assume it's worth checking out for that. The track "Eyez" can be downloaded for free in exchange for a tweet/FB like. I downloaded it, and it sounds like a heavy (for POD standards) song with Jasta screaming every once in a while.
