AV Roundup: New music from MASTODON, SERJ TANKIAN, NORMA JEAN, PARKWAY DRIVE

First up, we finally get a taste of what Mastodon's contributions to the Jonah Hex score are. Sterogum premiered a track titled "Indian Theme". It starts off sounding like really creepy Native American music and then kicks in to a Mastodonian jam. It sounds pretty fun. Don't expect any vocals though.

Above you can hear the first single from Serj Tankian's new album, titled "Borders Are." I really liked his 2007 release, Elect The Dead and I am a huge System fan, but this doesn't do it for me. I prefer the heavier side of Serj, not the ballads. Please, act accordingly, kthxbai. Serj's new album, Imperfect Harmonies, comes out September 7th on Warner.

Speaking of new tracks, the new Norma Jean track also streamable on Youtube called Deathbed Atheist off their upcoming release, Meridional. It's oooookay. If you like new Norma, this one's definitely up your ally.

More than one of you have asked for us to cover Parkway Drive more often on the site. Here goes: The band is streaming their entire new album on their MySpace page. Look at that! Some PD (not to be confused with PxDx) coverage for you.
