Mestis, the group made up of Animals As Leaders' guitarist Javier Reyes and drummer Matt Garstka, Calle 13 percussionist Hector Barez and Marvin Gaye's trombonist David Stout, has just dropped its first single off its upcoming Polysemy record due out on November 6 via Sumerian Records!
The song is called "Pura Vida" and sounds like a more straightforward Animals As Leaders track. Definitely more metal than Mestis has been in the past, though not by much… and that's a good thing. I love Mestis' super jazzy sound! Plus the track features both Erick Hansel and Mario Camarena of Chon.
