Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello is a busy guy right now. He's just launched a few new SiriusXM channels, and he's signed on to be the executive music producer of a new movie from the showrunners of Game of Thrones, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. The movie, "Metal Lords," will be the duo's first for Netflix, due later this year.
The Wrap describes the movie as "a coming-of-age comedy about two kids who want to start a heavy metal band in their school where they’re the only kids who actually care about heavy metal."
“Knives Out” and “It” actor Jaeden Martell will lead the case, along with Isis Hainsworth, and the debuting Adrian Greensmith.
Morello got acquainted with Weiss during weekly Dungeons and Dragons games at actor Joe Manganiello's basement. Morello compared the game to playing high stakes poker saying "It’s similar to what a high-stakes poker game might be. It’s a game where friends gather that’s taken deadly seriously and is a lot of fun. But it’s serious. It’s very serious! We’re on an adventure that I think about a lot during the week."
There's also that Rage Against the Machine reunion tour that's still on the books, so 2021 is going to a busy year for Morello.
