Fred Durst Casts John Travolta As A Stalker In Movie Inspired by LIMP BIZKIT Frontman's Experiences

This is not a joke. John Travolta is the lead in a new movie directed by Fred Durst based on his life.

I had to read this story multiple times to make sure I was understanding this correctly. But, it's true.

John Travolta was cast in a film directed by Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst to play a character based on Durst's own life.

Variety just broke the story with a tweet titled "John Travolta will play Fred Durst in a movie directed by the Limp Bizkit frontman" The story reads:

Principal photography is now underway in Alabama on the thriller “Moose,” starring John Travolta with Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst directing for Ambi Media Group.

Based on events from Durst’s own life, “Moose” was written by Durst with Dave Bekerman. Travolta is playing the title character, a rabid movie fan obsessed with his favorite celebrity action hero, portrayed by Devon Sawa. As Moose’s obsession grows stronger, his fixation turns from stalking to ambition of destroying the star’s life — a story inspired by a real-life fan who stalked Durst many years ago.

So technically, I guess Travolta is playing a character named "Moose" not "Fred Durst." Although based on the wording, it seems like the Durst character is actually played by Devon Sawa. VARIETY, WHAT IS GOING ON??

The movie was co-written by Durst and Dave Bekerman, who has no past writing credits. There is no timetable for release, but the full cast can be seen at IMDB.
