In celebration of the fantastic movie Empire Records turning 20 this year, Rough Trade in New York is hosting three nights of screenings for the movie! Unfortunately it's all sold out, and while that sucks enough on its own merit, I've got some more bad news for you! Gwar is going to be making a "live cinematic appearance" at all of the events. Remember the scene where Mark finally gets to join Gwar? I'll refresh your memory.
No word on if the group will be bringing the giant worm to any of the screenings, but it feels only appropriate that it make an appearance. How long has it been since that thing has last eaten? Drummer Jizmak Da Gusha weighs in:
"I can't wait for the album throwing contests in NY. Whatever happened to the frisbee? Going back in time to Empire Records is way better than the future. The future sucks."
