At the strike of midnight, today, April 1st, Tool released a new video titled “Sounds of Night Crickets.”
Some fans, not realizing the date, may have assumed "oh, shit, Tool just released a 37 minute song." But actually, it's a 37 minute video, literally of night crickets:

What pranksters!
Tool revealed in a recent photo that they were mastering the new record with engineer Bob Ludwig (Metallica, Anthrax, Rush), meaning that everything is recorded, mixed and ready to go. Guitarist Adam Jones' friend Kirk Hammett (of a little band known as Metallica) noted that Jones told him that Tool is currently working on the album art.
So we're close!
Tool have some tour dates this spring. Maybe we'll hear new music then.
