Everyone likes free stuff, especially when it absolutely rules.
Alright, so here's the link to download Vivien Lalu's Oniric Metal, the 8th Anniversary Edition that's been shortened a little bit (just ambient intros taken out, nothing major that'll destroy your listening experience). For all those looking to get right to the heaviness, skip to "Night in Poenari," though I'd suggest giving the whole thing a once-through. So now on to the question that I'm sure you're asking yourself; why should I give a damn about this guy? Well, for starters, this is one of the first truly "progressive metal" albums I have ever heard in my life, and I still love the living hell out of it. It's the perfect balance of heavy, insane, and catchy, moving moments that every album should have, and to top it all off, Vivien is a goddamn keyboard maniac. Oniric Metal had a lineup with some names you might recognize too-
- Russell Bergquist (Bass)
- Joop Wolters (Guitars)
- Ryan van Poederooyen (Drums)
- Martin LeMar (Vocals)
- Vivien Lalu (Keyboards)
Killer, right? Oh, and his follow-up this year, titled Atomic Ark, is gonna have Virgil Donati on drums and Mike LePond on bass. I'll shut up now and let you enjoy- I could talk about Vivien's sick musical accomplishments forever.
