There's so much negativity in the world, let's take a moment to discuss a feel good moment. By all accounts, Fit For an Autopsy guitarist Pat Sheridan is one of the best dudes, and it was on full display all over the internet today as he's gone viral – but not for playing metal, rather a good deed.
A young black woman who goes by @AfricanPrize on Twitter said she was stuck on the highway because her car ran out of gas. She called for roadside assistance and was told it would be a 90 minute wait, but she did not have to wait nearly that long because Pat was on the case.
Pat saw she was in need of assistance and pulled up and told her he was going to go get her gas, and 10 minutes later came back with a gas canister. She said that Pat told her "I didn't want the cops pulling up to 'help you' and fucking with you."
She noted that her lesson here was not to judge a book by it's cover, because a bald tattoo'd up metalhead was much nicer to her than she would have assumed. We're all just teddy bears, after all!
Here is a photo the two took, and the full story from her tweet thread below:
I got stuck on the highway(wasn’t paying attention and ran out of gas).. This white man..tattoos all over, pulled up behind me, asked what’s wrong, then came back 10 mins later with gas and said “I didn’t want the cops pulling up to “help u” and fucking with you.” pic.twitter.com/elD2Irvsjv

“I got stuck on the highway(wasn’t paying attention and ran out of gas).. This white man..tattoos all over, pulled up behind me, asked what’s wrong, then came back 10 mins later with gas and said “I didn’t want the cops pulling up to ‘help u’ and fucking with you.
“I didn’t realize I had run out gas. I was on my way to get an oil change. Then the car just started pulling(my car is relatively new so I was shocked)..my insurance company said it would take 90 mins for roadside assistance to arrive. And I looked up and saw his BMW.
“I’m honestly so shook. I mean this man SPED down the highway to the exit to go get me some gas. Then asked me if I needed money for gas(I didn’t)…
“He saw how genuinely shocked I was at how willing he was to help me and said ‘it sucks that it shocks u that a guy who looks like me is willing to help you, but one step at a time, we will change the world’…I teared up a bit
“Moral of the story, don’t judge a book by its cover.
After getting a few replies, she made sure to clarify what she was saying:
“The whole point of this tweet is that I don’t usually trust people who look like him so I didn’t except him to be so kind. It’s a lesson to me not to judge a book by its cover. What are some of you not comprehending?”
“Yeaaa I’m def not responding to any more of fucking weirdos who are somehow upset at this post. Mad because I’m surprised and touched somebody who looks like him helped someone who looks like me. Lmfao y’all are strange as hell.
“Here comes all the ‘woke’ MFs with their nonsense. Y’all bitter bitches can get the fuck out my mentions. Go rant somewhere else.”
Fit For An Autopsy recently released a stand-alone single, "Fear Tomorrow."
