You have have noticed that Metal Injection went through a pretty significant change in the last few days. We will no longer be hosting videos on our own servers and instead hosting our original video content on our Youtube page.
You may have noticed that in the last few months, our site has been a little unstable to say the least. We have done extensive research into the cause of our downtime problems, and we soon found out the cause of the downtime is a server overload of our video script. Basically, the entire code had to be rewritten from the ground up. In addition to our script being in need of major updates, hosting your own video server is not cheap and in the last year, as our site grew, our hosting fees skyrocketed.
We decided the best decision on all accounts would be to host the videos on YouTube exclusively. We feel this not only works well for our own videos, but the bands we are promoting as well, as embedding their official videos will only help to increase view counts in one location which will boost the band's perceived values with labels, promoters, etc.
Since we are hosting our videos exclusively at our YouTube channel, all future content will be available in 1080p!
One of the side effects of this switchover is that we are currently not accepting user uploads. We are working on implementing a solution so that bands can submit their own videos and will have more info posted soon.
