Yesterday was a big day here at the Metal Injection studios. We gave our main page a bit of a facelift, to better reflect what the site is all about.
Obviously, the biggest change (which was site-wide) is the header of the site, now featuring a much cleaner look with far better navigation than our previous site. You are now also able to track when you get new messages through the site, if you are logged in.
Previously, the main page featured just a few videos at the top of the page, and then a blog format for the rest of the page. This page was designed almost 2 years ago. Ever since then, we have grown in leaps and bounds, and I felt it was time for the main page to reflect that. It's no secret that our biggest feature is our video section, so I felt that the main page should properly reflect that. There are now far more featured videos on the page, and you can quickly and easily browse some of our featured channels as well.
Also, previously, we didn't really highlight some of the other great portions of the site, such as our video podcast, The FiX, or our weekly live audio podcast, the RIP a Livecast. You can now find the latest edition of each podcast on the main page, along with our latest photos and the latest discussion threads.
For all of you who miss the blog format of the main page, fear not! We have moved that page to it's own section, the News section. You can always access it by clicking the "News" button in the header.
Over the course of the next few months, I plan on giving facelifts to all the other sections of the site to make them sexier as well. This includes the much talked about Livecast page, which will soon have it's own mini-site.
Obviously, the most important thing here is that you guys like the new look. Let us know what you think in the comments. Also, if you have any suggestions for things we should add or change to the site, throw those in there too. We'd love to hear from you guys.
