Johnny Crow is a metalhead who has had a bad few months. Sadly, this past April, his father died of a heart attack at the age of 49. To make matters even more traumatic, young Johnny was home at the time and tried to resuscitate his dad with CPR to no avail. The tragic event happened right before Johnny turned sixteen.
Johnny's sister got a call from the local music shop, Port Huron Music Center, informing her that their father, who the shop owner knew, had ordered a Dean Razorback guitar for Johnny for his birthday. Johnny's dad ordered it back in January to ensure he got the exact model Johnny wanted. Johnny's sister took him to the store earlier this week to show him the present as a surprise, and Johnny couldn't help but ugly-cry. It's okay, bro, I'm right there with you. I'm not even going to pretend there are onions around, watching this absolutely made me tear up:
The video has since gone viral. We genuinely hope you enjoy the guitar, Johnny.
Update: This video exploded on Reddit and users wanted to know how they could help. They ended up tracking Johnny down and donated over $16k for music lessons and some backstage passes for Alice Cooper. Read the whole story here.
