Black Sabbath is just about nearing the end of its touring life, and who can really blame the band? Black Sabbath has been at it longer than a very good portion of its fans have probably even been alive, and with their collective age, now is as good a time as any to hang it up. However, there could be a new album, according to Tony Iommi.
Iommi recently told Ultimate Guitar that a new album is a "maybe," though at this time last year Iommi said a new album would be difficult because Geezer Butler doesn't want to do it. So maybe he changed his mind?
"Maybe. As I said, I’ll be doing some writing. Maybe I’ll be doing something with the guys, maybe in the studio, but no touring."
Iommi also says he'll be doing music for a show in England called Guitar Star, and that he still loves playing gigs – it's just the travel that he can't do anymore. So fingers crossed for a new Sabbath album in 2017/2018, but only if the whole band is on board.
Yes, that means Bill Ward.
