Napalm Death frontman Barney Greenway is a resident of the United Kingdom, which means he gets to deal with the whole Brexit situation right now. Whether or not he's a fan of that decision wasn't a part of a recent interview with Metal Wani, the but the 2016 American Presidential Election was.
Greenway says given the choice between any candidate in the running, he liked Democrat Bernie Sanders the most, but is a Hillary Clinton supporter.
"Given the toss-up between Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton, obviously I've already said who I would really pitch for. But I think at this point, it's a case of damage limitation for all of us, and I think it would be far preferable for everybody if she gets it. 'Cause she's gonna get it. The system's not gonna collapse overnight. We have the system that we have, everywhere in the world, that is kind of a derivative of some kind of core system. And as much as, with my nonpolitical head on, or rather with my anti-mainstream-politics head on, I'd like to see the pillars come tumbling down, which would give everybody in the world a better chance at freedom and dignity and equality and stuff, it ain't gonna happen. So I think the best thing for now is if Hillary Clinton was to win. I think that's fairly obvious. So there you go."
Greenway also touches on Republican candidate Donald Trump, who he states he's not a fan of.
"I really struggle when it comes to the kind of situation that you've got now with the U.S. election. I mean, Trump is just… I just can't take him seriously. I know he's really offended a lot of people, but I think he's so ludicrous in every way. And I just can't believe that people would swallow that.
"Politicians always make this point of not insulting the electorate and they really make a big issue of that. But it doesn't matter who you are. If you are really gullible enough to swallow some of the stuff that Trump says, given the position that he's gonna be potentially presented with a couple of months on, I just don't understand it. From a basic human perspective, it just doesn't make any sense.
"So, yeah, it's not gonna be good for anybody, I think, if he gets [elected president]. Because we have an interest in it too, because, like it or not, whatever happens in America has a domino effect elsewhere, so we all should be concerned about it."
