When we interviewed Gojira frontman, Joe Duplantier during an episode of The FiX, late last year, he made it pretty clear that the band would be taking 2010 off to just relax and try to resume writing towards the end of the year for a possible 2011 release. Well, it looks like the environment came calling and Joe has changed plans.
During a recent French news report (viewable below), Gojira will hit in the next few months to record a 5-song EP from which the proceeds will benefit the anti-whaling organization Sea Shepherd. During the video it's stated that the EP will feature "guests from the international metal community" and will only be available through Gojira's website. Sounds like a great idea to get fans excited about the band and help out a great cause at the same time. Here is the report:
