We've learned a lot about Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland over the years. He seems a bit bummed to still be in Limp Bizkit because metal is boring, he loves some Norma Jean and doesn't want you taking photos of him mid-set.
Recently, a more chilled out Wes spoke to Metal Hammer about 10 albums that changed his life. It was an interesting peek into the mind of arguably the most talented member of Limp Bizkit.
When asked what album to hand a kid when they ask what metal is, he responded with Metallica's Kill' Em All saying:
“That was the album that got me into metal and bumped me out of hardcore and punk rock because it changed from fast, aggressive music to fast, riff-based music.”
As for his most surprising pick? When he was asked what music he "breaks the speed limit to," he responded with Carcass' Descanting The Insalubrious saying:
“They’re one of the bands that I’ve held on to. I don’t listen to much metal any more but Carcass and Death have stuck with me through the years. I saw them in the House Of Blues and people don’t usually move for LA shows but that place was insane.”
You can't argue with liking Carcass and Death.
