Let's be real: Panzerbastard are one of the best bands on the underground right now and every time they put out any new music it's an event. The band has made a name for themselves playing Motorhead-inspired crusty hardcore, and now it seems like they are embracing their inner Lemmy more eagerly than ever. If this music is meant to be so vile and unpalatable, then why is it that I can't seem to stop listening? I'll tell you why: it's because Panzerbastard fucking rule.
The band has always been defined by manic riffs and over the top lyrics. The title track has lines that read "Bastard Nazarene, Zion's great deceiver/Sent here to enslave the sheep, picked out by his Father" meanwhile, the track "Traitor" starts off with a monstrous cry of "FUCK!" which then, after a sick intro guitar riff leads to a single shouted "Traitor!" Meanwhile, with blues based riffs for days, the band prove that they know what it means to play some crusty ass music and revel in the filth that it entails.
Motorheathen isn't perfect; after all, it's only a 7-inch and it's hard to fully immerse yourself in what Panzerbastard are doing here. The songwriting is spot on though and it more than makes up for any minor issues in the production that you might nitpick. If you find yourself trying to pick apart a Panzerbastard record you're not doing it right, and as a matter of fact, I kind of feel bad for you. This is potentially our generation's Motorhead so you had better drop the pretentious veneer, enjoy the riffs and hop on the motherfucking hype train.
