We are really excited for the new Iron Maiden record, The Book of Souls, coming out in a few short weeks. Already, we've heard a killer track, "Speed of Light," but not much more is known about the album.
Frontman Bruce Dickinson revealed a bit of information in a recent interview with Italy’s Corriere Della Sera, where he revealed one of the tracks is dedicated to the memory of comedian, actor and activist Robin Williams, who tragically committed suicide in August of last year. Dickinson said of the track:
“My favorite song is one I didn’t write,” Dickinson explained. “It’s ‘Tears of a Clown,’ which talks about Robin Williams. I ask myself how could he be so depressed when he always seemed to be so happy.”
Williams' death was a huge bummer for me, personally, as his movies were a big part of my youth. This just makes me look forward to the new album even more.
The Book of Souls is out on September 4th. Pre-order on Amazon for $12.
