Being a musician can take a toll on one's body. Take Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan for example. After decades of jumping around on stage, Maynard, who is 51, had to have hip replacement surgery. The Tool frontman posted the above photo to the Facebook page of his solo project, Puscifer, adding the caption:
Didn't want to freak anyone out, wanted to wait until out of the woods. Years of foot stomping left me with no cushion in my right hip. Full replacement yesterday. Walking today. 12 weeks, back on the mat to work towards that Brown Belt. OSS. #weshallovercome #bjjforlife
Maynard just recently received his purple belt in Brazilian jui-jitsu and is already on the path to recovery and in good spirits it seems.
Hopefully, this doesn't put a damper on the already delayed, highly anticipated Tool album or the potential for tour dates.
