I think I'm a little confused. DevilDriver and Coal Chamber frontman Dez Fafara said DevilDriver is going on a hiatus until the new Coal Chamber record and tour are all wrapped up, right? So has anything changed? Because DevilDriver has just been joined by former Chimaira drummer Austin D'Amond.
Well everyone! Here it is! Ive just confirmed my future in drumming with the mighty @DEVILDRIVERUSA @evilriver Beyond Stoked!#Dreamscometrue

Granted, maybe part of the reason DevilDriver went on hiatus was because the group lost two members and the remaining collective are trying to fill in the blanks during the downtime, but D'Amond certainly seems excited about something that supposedly isn't happening until 2016. Maybe Coal Chamber will take DevilDriver on tour as the supporting act, which would solidify Fafara as a vocalist with some seriously insane endurance. It's also worth considering DevilDriver might come back in 2016 as a four piece and just not replaced former guitarist Jeff Kendrick.
Stranger things have happened.
