Google just published their Year in Search 2024 wrap-up, which showcases their most popular search terms from the past year. Globally, the Musicians category was topped by Diddy after the onslaught of horrible things he's done, though rock and metal made two appearances – Linkin Park clocked in at No. 3, and Dave Grohl at No. 7.

Linkin Park spiked in early September as they began to ramp up their comeback and was surprisingly most popular in Germany. Then there was Dave Grohl (very popular in New Zealand), who unfortunately got very searched as it was revealed that he had a secret child outside his marriage (which may have led to the cancellation of Foo Fighters' 2025 plans?) So y'know – good for Linkin Park for making such a comeback, but I'm sure Grohl isn't thrilled about being on this list.

Interestingly, the stats for the United States don't reflect the global interests. The United States' most-search Musicians are (in order):

  • Usher
  • Diddy
  • Kendrick Lamar
  • Drake
  • Justin Timberlake
  • Ingrid Andress
  • Sabrina Carpenter
  • Drake Bell
  • Chappell Roan
  • Tracy Chapman
