Fans of classic heavy metal have a reason to celebrate today with the announcement of the reissue of the long out-of-print Ronnie James Dio compilation The Very Beast Of Dio Vol. 2.
The collection not only contains standout tracks from Dio's later studio albums Angry Machines (1996), Magica (2000), Killing The Dragon (2002), and his final studio effort, Master Of The Moon (2004), but also features two rare gems: “Electra,” a track intended for the uncompleted – and never released – Magica II album, and “Prisoner Of Paradise,” previously available only on the Japanese edition of Master Of The Moon. To top it all off, it also includes a bittersweet highlight—the last track ever recorded by Dio, “Metal Will Never Die,” performed alongside his cousin David “Rock” Feinstein.
After nearly a decade out of print, The Very Beast Of Dio Vol. 2 will finally return on January 31, 2024, in a limited edition Dragon’s Fire 2LP vinyl set as well as a single CD. Pre-order it here.
