This week's new heavy releases includes riffs, sad metal, and more! To the metals…

ALSO! Today, Bandcamp is doing one of their days of giving 100% of what you pay directly to the labels and artists. So if you can get stuff from Bandcamp, please do.

Castle – Evil Remains

The Weekly Injection: New Releases From JORDAN RUDESS, MANY EYES & More Out This Week 9/6

Genre: Heavy metal/doom
Origin: San Francisco, California / Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Label: Hammerheart Records

Starting this week with some straight up riffage. This duo's first album in six years will get your head banging with addictive smoky jams. You'll also be hit with some fun rhythmic weirdness here, which is a pleasant shakeup for their scene.

God Dethroned – The Judas Paradox

The Weekly Injection: New Releases From JORDAN RUDESS, MANY EYES & More Out This Week 9/6

Genre: Blackened/melodic death metal
Origin: Beilen, Netherlands
Label: Reigning Phoenix

Buy now on Amazon

God Dethroned always bring the melodic sinister metal, and this record is no different. Guitar melodies are catchy yet somber, the drumwork is constantly pummeling you, and the overall vibe is dark. Would recommend to Behemoth fans that want some Paradise Lost mixed in.

God Is An Astronaut – Embers

The Weekly Injection: New Releases From JORDAN RUDESS, MANY EYES & More Out This Week 9/6

Genre: Post-metal/space rock
Origin: Glen Of The Downs, Ireland
Label: Napalm

Buy now on Amazon

This is another record that showcases God Is An Astronaut's diverse abilities. They traverse traditional tension building post-rock realms while also breaking those rules and showing off their straight ahead rock banger chops. All without uttering a word and they don't need 'em.

Many Eyes – The Light Age

The Weekly Injection: New Releases From JORDAN RUDESS, MANY EYES & More Out This Week 9/6

Genre: Hard rock/metalcore
Origin: Buffalo, New York
Label: Perseverance Media Group

Buy now on Bandcamp

After a handful of singles, the debut of Many Eyes is finally here. Keith Buckley's first post-Every Time I Die outing retains the hardcore fury of the former band, but with melodies are more grand than ever. This record also features the work of multi-instrumentalists Nick Bellmore and Charlie Bellmore, though the latter is no longer with the band.

Pure Reason Revolution – Coming Up To Consciousness

The Weekly Injection: New Releases From JORDAN RUDESS, MANY EYES & More Out This Week 9/6

Genre: Progressive rock
Origin: Sheffield, England
Label: InsideOut

Buy now on Bandcamp

With this album, PRR have now tied their pre-split album album count, and there doesn't seem to be signs of stopping them. The prog outfit recorded this with live- turned-official member Annicke Shireen (Heilung, Shireen) on vocals and session bassist Guy Pratt (David Gilmour, Pink Floyd). The combination of the old guard and the new faces meshes so well and long-time fans will likely be cool with them.

Jordan Rudess – Permission To Fly

The Weekly Injection: New Releases From JORDAN RUDESS, MANY EYES & More Out This Week 9/6

Genre: Progressive rock
Origin: New York
Label: InsideOut

While still a key-centric record, Dream Theater's keyboard wizard has a bunch of pals this time to assist with his latest soaring, nerdy adventure. You've got Darby Todd on drums (Out of This Word/live-Devin Townsend), That Joe Payne on vocals, and guitarists Steve Dadian and Bastian Martinez (Catalan). The lyrics were written by his daughter Ariana, so it's a family affair this time too.
