Heavy Montreal, previously Heavy MTL has always had killer lineups and it looks like they are aiming to outdo themselves this year.
According to our reliable friends at Metal Insider, there are rumors going around that Metallica is set to headline the fest, which will be their first performance in Montreal since 2009, so it's kind-of a big deal. Maybe they can bring their fan request gimmick to North America, in that the audience gets to pick the playlist except for the one new song they are promising.
I assume, right now Metallica is writing a new album, but the way they've been procrastinating, I wouldn't be surprised if they haven't either.
