Metallica's promo-blitz continues on the road to this Friday's release of their IMAX 3D movie, Metallica Through The Never. The band made a rare TV appearance on The Colbert Report last night. Stephen Colbert is not just one of the funniest men alive, but also one of the best interviewers.
I love when he has bands on because of the endless amounts of shit he gives them.
Colbert once asked the legendary prog band Rush this brilliant question:
“You’re known for some long songs. Have you ever written a song so epic that by the end of the song you were actually being influenced by yourself from the beginning of the song since it happened so much earlier in your career?”
Thanks for making me feel really inadequate as an interviewer, and yes, his follow-ups blow mine out of the water. Check out the great interview he did with Metallica last night, centering on his confusion with the movie title and his love for St. Anger (the cover at least).
