Even LARS ULRICH Doesn't Know What The Narrative of METALLICA's 3D Movie Is About

Throughout the teaser trailer and the long-form theatrical trailer released this weekend, the one question I've had about Metallica's upcoming 3D movie, Through the Never is what the hell is up with that riot scene, and to boot the narrative in general in this movie? Turns out, even the band's drummer, Lars Ulrich doesn't really know what it's about.

Speaking to Radio.com, Lars said:

“You know what, I’ve spent three years working on this movie and I don’t have any idea what it means.” Ulrich laughed, understanding that the answer left to much to be desired so he launched into a description of the film saying that the storyline is largely “ambiguous,” much like singer James Hetfield’s lyrics.

Last week's trailer reveal showed that the character played by actor Dane DeHaan was a runner who is sent to pick up a van containing something very important to Metallica, and on the way back four, literal, horsemen try to stop him. Seriously! Watch the trailer if you don't believe me.

I've said it before, but Metallica has convinced me to check out this film. It may be the best thing ever or perhaps the biggest waste of 20 million dollars ever, but I want to experience it and decide for myself.

Metallica: Through The Never will be released exclusively in IMAX theaters on September 27th before expanding to additional theaters on October 4, 2013.
