Kvelertak are all done recording their new album, Meir. They are one of the most buzzed about bands right now. When I went to see them open for Converge, I saw representatives from three big metal labels all there to try to court the band to their label. Some of these people didn't even live in New York. They flew in just to schmooze with Kvelertak.
These guys are going to be so huge. I've already seen a few bootleg videos, and sure… that hyped me up, but this most recent quote from the band's producer, Kurt Ballou is what really put me over the top.
Thrash Hits did a write up about the album and got this exciting quote from Ballou:
“It’s just more Kvelertak. It’s everything they did on the last record and they’ve pushed it even further. The poppy stuff it poppier, the metal stuff is metal-ier, the catchy stuff is catchier, the fast stuff is faster and the slow stuff is slower. Everything’s just Kvelertak but more extreme. The singing has definitely developed a lot since the last record because they toured so relentlessly on that. His stamina and range have increased dramatically”
I love the poppy stuff! I love the heavy stuff! To say that it's more of the same but better IS EXACTLY WHAT I WANT TO HEAR. Please let me hear this album immediately…thank you! The album is scheduled to be released in March.
