RICHIE FAULKNER Thinks He "Probably" Could've Handled JUDAS PRIEST Without A Second Guitarist Live

He bought some pedals to do the job.

Judas Priest originally announced their intention to hit the road as a four-piece back in January, making Richie Faulkner the band's only guitarist. Live fill-in guitarist Andy Sneap (alongside fans) expressed their disappointment in the decision, which was eventually reversed and owned by vocalist Rob Halford. But it still begs the very obvious question of how Judas Priest planned to pull off their dual guitar attack with only Faulkner.

Now in a new interview with Ryan Roxie, Faulkner admits that he "probably" could've pulled it off with the help of a few harmonizer pedals.

"Rob called me up and he said, 'Falcon, would you be able to handle all the guitar parts on your own without a second guitar player?' And I said, 'Yeah, I probably would be able to handle them. It would probably take a bit of moving around and doing things a bit differently — a couple of more pedals and stuff like that.' 'Cause he was thinking… I think one time Priest were a four-piece and he was thinking about going back to that and Glenn coming out when he could.

"I think that was the idea in his mind. And I said, 'Whatever you wanna do, boss. If that's what you're thinking, if everyone else is on board with it, whatever you wanna do.' So I went and bought… I think I bought three harmonizer pedals to try some stuff out. Long story short, we went back on the decision."

Sneap has been filling in with Judas Priest since 2018 when longtime guitarist Glenn Tipton announced he wouldn't tour anymore due to his worsening Parkinson's disease, and will continue to do so. Catch Judas Priest at one of the dates below with Queensrÿche.
