AC/DC's 1990 single "Thunderstruck" is the latest major rock music video to hit 1 billion plays on YouTube. "Thunderstruck" has racked up nearly 1.8 million sales since its release, while The Razor's Edge album as a whole has surpassed 5 million sales in the United States alone. So "Thunderstruck" hitting 1 billion views isn't exactly shocking.
A few other videos to surpass the 1 billion mark (according to The PRP) include:
- "Nothing Else Matters" by Metallica
- "Sweet Child O' Mine" by Guns N' Roses
- "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana
- "Chop Suey!" by System Of A Down
- "In The End" and "Numb" by Linkin Park
