So I finally got a chance to listen to Lars Ulrich's full interview on the Howard Stern show last week (bootleg link here) and there were a lot of interesting morsels of information revealed in the interview. Besides calling Hulk Hogan a liar about auditioning for Metallica, Lars revealed that he once had sex with three women at once, and that director Quentin Tarintino came to him while shooting Kill Bill and said he had choreographed two fight scenes in the movie around the Metallica tracks "Enter Sandman" and "Sad But True" and Lars ultimately rejecting him, citing it as one of the biggest mistakes of their career.
The biggest shocker for me though, was when Lars revealed the band is putting up 20 million dollars of their own money to produce this upcoming 3D movie.
Twenty million dollars to produce a concert film? That's sort of insane. Well to be fair, they have said this isn't JUST going to be a concert film and movies are generally produced for many millions of dollars. They also have some Hollywood big shots doing this, and when you think about it, how much is twenty mil to Metallica anyway? I wonder if they'll make it all back.
