Gojira drummer Mario Duplantier has just released a studio version of his summer 2019 tour drum solo, and it's exactly as killer as you'd think it is.
“Here is the Full Studio Version of my drum solo from last summer. Each solo I create for GOJIRA’s live show all serve a purpose, which is usually to let our performance breath a little between our intense songs. But, it’s always musicality over technicality. This specific solo has a very tribal vibe, which I’m using only 1 foot the entire time.
I’ll post a few other Drum Solo videos I worked on in the coming weeks. Each one has its own style.”
Gojira has been holed up in their own Silver Cord Studio since at least last September recording their new album.
