The Blue Prison is a Los Angeles-based instrumental progressive duo fronted by composer Keigo Yoshida. Since 2014, the project has been consistently releasing EPs, with the fourth and most recent one being last year's Alchemist, a complex and djenty five track collection that punches just as much heaviness and attitude as graceful shred.
While Yoshida has kept busy with creating and releasing solid material, the project has increasingly seen more live shows as of late. Just last month, they opened up for Rings of Saturn, Enterprise Earth, AngelMaker, and Brand of Sacrifice.
Considering it has been a year since the aforementioned EP, it would be safe to assume we're due for some fresh, new tunes from The Blue Prison. Metal Injection is stoked to be premiering their latest single "Vengeance," which shows the band's Animals as Leaders influence still shining strong with nods to glitchy electronics, thumping rhythms, and an array of guitar leads.
