Seeing Meshuggah earlier this year on their 25th anniversary tour was one of the most satisfying concert experience of the year for me, and now I can enjoy Meshuggah from the comfort of my couch whenever I want, because Meshuggah are releasing a live DVD and BluRay of their 2013 tour which they're calling The Ophidian Trek.
I know what you're saying… didn't Meshuggah already release a live DVD, Alive, in 2010? To you I say, so what?! More pro-recorded live Meshuggah tracks are never a bad thing. The live audio was processed and edited by guitarist Fredrik Thordendal, mixed by Daniel Begstrand and mastered by Mats Lindfors.
The footage comes from their European tour as well as their appearance at last year's Wacken festival. The 2CD/DVD or BluRay combo is due sometime this fall. Here is the tracklisting:
