Witness In Randy Blythe Trial Says LAMB OF GOD Frontman Was Acting "Extremely Aggressive" On Stage

Yesterday, the long talked about trial of Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe kicked off in the Czech Republic. Randy is facing possible jail time over an incident at a 2010 show in Prague, where Blythe allegedly knocked a fan off stage, causing the fan injuries that led to his death one month later.

Randy testified yesterday, read our coverage of that here, and today witnesses at the show took the stand.

Update: Randy Blythe issues first statement since the trail began calling online reports inaccurate.

Eight witnesses took the stand today. One witness who was at the concert described the altercation between Blythe and the victim, Daniel Nosek, with one witness saying Blythe was acting "extremely aggressive."

"[Daniel] climbed onto the stage, he turned to the audience and was thrown into the crowd. Blythe pushed him from behind with both hands, I'm one hundred percent sure," said witness Jan Jebavý.

WTVR is reporting while some of the witnessess where friends of Nosek, their testimony was a little contradictory:

While all of Nosek’s friends said Blythe pushed Nosek off the stage, their versions of the events of that night included some slight contradictions.

One of Nosek’s friends said Blythe was off of the stage when Nosek climbed up and that the singer ran from backstage to push the fan off. Other witnesses did not mention that.

Many of the witnesses struggled to recall the events of that concert nearly three years ago, Crane said.

During the testimony Blythe challenged one witness who claimed “several incidents” happened in the first half of the show, Crane said. Blythe argued video evidence shown in court refutes that claim.

Blythe has said he has no recollection of coming in contact with Nosek. In a report by WTVR yesterday, Blythe said he remembered throwing another fan off stage:

The singer did admit to forcing one man off the stage, named as Milan Pořánek. However, the gig continued when other fans nearby gave Blythe the “thumbs up” to suggest everything was in order. Asked by the lead judge, Tomáš Kubovec, to corroborate witness accounts that he pushed Nosek off the stage, Blythe replied, “I never saw Mr. Nosek or came into contact with him.”

There are conflicting reports as to if Blythe asked the crowd if Nosek was ok, and then when getting the word that he is, that he resumed the show. Other reports say that Blythe asked if Pořánek was ok, as stated above.

The trial is ongoing until Friday with a verdict coming as soon as next Monday. If convicted, Blythe could face up to 10 years in prison. Nosek’s family are also seeking around $530,000 US in damages.
