To our US readers, our election is tomorrow, so don't forget to get out there and vote, and let your voice be heard, regardless of your political stance.
Forget who the New York Times endorses, forget who Mayor Bloomberg says should be the next president, I want to know what our favorite moled bassist, has to say. Who is Lemmy voting for? It seems like he supports Barack Obama.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the topic of the "first black president" came up and Lemmy had this to say:
I would have said America wasn't ready for it. And I don't think they were, because they're trying to drag him down now. I mean, the poor fucker's only just gotten rid of all that George Bush shit that he left, or is trying to. And he's being stonewalled by the fucking Congress all the time. I don't know how he's gotten anything done. They should be glad. I mean the alternative is Mitt Romney. Please, please don't vote for Mitt Romney. Fuck him. Repeal abortion law is the first thing he'll do. Fucking monster.
I'm a bit surprised that Lemmy is so liberal, but then again, it makes sense that Lemmy would be for abortion rights, seeing as though he's slept with 1,000 women, and only has one son that he knows about. Later on in the interview, the topic of sex was discussed, and Lemmy's answer couldn't be more awesome:
People have forgotten that sex is fun. It's the most fun you can have without laughing. People have forgotten that. It's all deadly serious. AIDS. You can get gonorrhea from a blowjob. So what? That's the risk you have to take. If you're going to use one of those fancy princess butt plugs just to feel royalty, then fuckin' use one and be happy about it. Don't be looking over your shoulder all the time. It ruins everything. It takes all the fun out of things so now we can go back to being Protestant nutcases and ban abortions and only missionary style – doggystyle was sent by the devil, obviously. We'll be Amish.
Does this mean Lemmy has gonorrhea? All kidding aside, I think it's pretty admirable that he comes out as liberal, as I'm sure a good portion of his fanbase is conservative. But really, shouldn't the music speak for itself.
As for if Lemmy can vote or not, he's lived in LA since 1990. Surely, he's become a citizen by now, right?
