Jeroen Paul Thesseling, who you might know as the former bassist for bands like Obscura and Pestilence, has struck up a fusion trio called Salazh Trio. The band consists of Thesseling, Pianist and keyboard Hans Grotenbreg and upcoming South-Korean drummer SunMi Hong, which sunds like a super interesting lineup.
So when can we hear this? According to a press release, soon… ish.
"Most of the material is written now and we're very excited about it. Nevertheless, Salazh Trio continues to write for a while adding our latest ideas, then making a final selection for the album which is expected to be released before the end of the year."
I mean, we know Thesseling is an incredible musician and has been his entire life, so it's not like he's picking out guys to play with that can't hold their own and then some. So we'll see where this goes, but it's likely safe to assume that we're all going to need to woodshed our instruments right after hearing it.
