NIGHTWISH Part Ways With Vocalist; Announce Replacement

In what is a shocking development for power metal fans, Nightwish have announced they have parted ways with vocalist Anette Olzon. Olzon was a controversial replacement, as I've heard both sides of the coin. They preferred her to original vocalist Tarja Turunen, or some preferred Tarja. Tarja left the band in 2005 over "creative differences." Shockingly enough, in a statement released earlier today, the band has said that Olzon's split was also due to creative differences. Here is their full statement:

"Nightwish has no intention of cancelling any upcoming shows, and as a result we have decided to bring in a substitute vocalist starting in Seattle 1.10.2012. Her name is Floor Jansen from The Netherlands (ex-After ForeverReVamp), and she has graciously stepped in to help us complete the Imaginaerum world tour.

"We are all strongly committed to this journey, this vehicle of spirit, and we are sure that this will lead to a brighter future for everyone.

"We forever remain excited about the adventures to come, and we are extremely proud of the two beautiful albums and the wonderful shows we shared together."

Floor looks like quite a catch for the band. Here are some photos of her:
