Remember how in 2012, Chris Brown was spotted wearing a leather jacket with patches from Municipal Waste, DRI and Suicidal Tendencies… the same jacket that Rihanna wore on her album sleeve? At the time, people were pissed, but with more and more celebrities rocking metal gear lately, is it a big deal anymore?
Well, the latest surprise entrant into the Celebrity Metalhead category here at Metal Injection is renowned hip-hop producer Timbaland. Tim appeared on The Daily Show last night to discuss his new autobiography, The Emperor of Sound and decided to come dressed in his finest leather jacket sporting patches from The Misfits, Crass, some punk buttons and a large Dead Kennedys emblazing on the back:
I have to assume Tim got the jacket from the same source as Chris Brown all those years ago, DNA designs by Noel Austin, and likely paid a pretty penny. At the time of the Chris Brown story, Austin said Brown likely never heard of the bands on the jacket, but I'd like to think that Timbaland, being that music is his love and profession, at least heard one Misfits song in his life. Right?
Here's the video of Timbaland's appearance if you're curious.
