Watch DIMMU BORGIR Play "Dimmu Borgir" Live At Bloodstock 2022

Enter the dark city and perish!

Norwegian symphonic black metal stalwarts Dimmu Borgir recently brought the euphonious mayhem to the Ronnie James Dio stage at Bloodstock 2022. Now, a live video from the set—a rendition of their namesake track—is available on the Bloodstock YouTube page. Or, you can check it out just above. It's time to erupt, folks!

In a 2020 interview, Dimmu Borgir guitarist Silenoz said that the band is was working on new material and "it's not gonna take us 10 years until the next album is out." Though we're coming up on five years since Dimmu Borgir release Eonian, so… tick tock.

"We're pretty well on the way into the beginning of the songwriting process for the next album. So things are going pretty smooth, to be fair. We have, separately, us in the band, we have so much ideas for material, and we just bring everything to the Dimmu pot, so to speak, and we stir around, and then stuff comes out.

"So it's like a meat grinder. It's a pretty long process, but it's a really fun process, and there's never a shortage of ideas and riffs. It's more like a challenge to assemble it all. And again also there to shave off the fat that's not needed, basically. It feels really good, and it's not gonna take us 10 years until the next album is out — that I can guarantee."
