Watch CATEGORY 7's JOHN BUSH Explain The Lyrics Behind The Band's Song "Runaway Truck"

"This is like a metal punk song, intense, shorter in time and with a big chorus"

Category 7 – the new band comprised of vocalist John Bush (Armored Saint, ex-Anthrax), guitarists Mike Orlando (ex-Adrenaline Mob) and Phil Demmel (Kerry King, ex-Machine Head, ex-Vio-lence), bassist Jack Gibson (Exodus), and drummer Jason Bittner (Shadows Fall, ex-Overkill) released their upcoming self-titled debut last July 26, and most recently announced they will hit the road for their first-ever tour in March 2025.

The band has been sharing videos in a series called “Behind The Words w/ John Bush”, where Bush dissects each song on the album – explaining not only the inspiration for writing the track but also a look into the lyrics & meaning – and today we are premiering episode number 5, for the track "Runaway Truck".

“The whole theory behind the record is me trying to match the intensity of these guys,” Bush said while praising his bandmates. "The approach to the lyrics is about someone who is a relentless person. There are a couple of people I know, their names will not be mentioned because if I did I'd be divulging some secrets, and they can be relentless people and a lot to endure," he went on while explaining.

Direct support on all shows for Category 7’s upcoming tour will be provided by Exhorder (except Milwaukee) and Hand Of The Tribe on all dates, as well as Dead By Wednesday on the first four dates, and Engineered Society Project on the remainder of the tour, starting in Warrendale.
