THE OCEAN Streams "Preboreal," Launches Mysterious Countdown

Is there a new album on the horizon?

The Ocean appears to be readying the follow-up to their 2020 record Phanerozoic II: Mesozoic | Cenozoic, if mysterious countdowns have taught us anything over the years. The Ocean is now streaming their surprise new single "Preboreal" and have launched a countdown on their site that's currently sitting at 29 days. In the meantime, you can at least download "Preboreal" for free here on Bandcamp.

The single follows The Ocean's time-centric naming conventions, with the preboreal period ending about 8,000 years before the present day. If you're interested in nerding out about that period of time, check out this publication.

The Ocean is currently out on the road with Karnivool. Catch those shows at one of the many European dates below.

"While Holocene doesn't definitively best that prior duo, it certainly matches them."
