King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard released their thrash record Infest The Rats' Nest in 2019, and it looks like maybe we're getting another one? King Gizzard played a noticeably heavier new single "Gila Monster" during a March 4 set at the 013 in Tilburg, Netherlands, which you can check out above. Though King Gizzard has also thrown in some heavy songs on otherwise not-heavy albums (lookin' at you "Gaia" on Omnium Gatherum), so who knows what the overall context is here.
No word on when to expect a studio version of the song, but King Gizzard puts out like, five records every year. So I'm sure we'll get it at some point. In the meantime, check out King Gizzard live on their European tour happening this month and residency-styled tour of the US this June.
On the US tour, King Gizzard offered the following: "We all waited so long for our last lap around the country it feels like a such a wild and exciting privilege to be coming back so soon. We like to keep things interesting, different, fun and unexpected for us but also for you, our fans. So we've hand picked some really unique venues around the country to camp out in for a few nights.
"Set up shop and really get to know the place. Yep, it's a RESIDENCY tour. Rocks, Farms, Caves and Salt Sheds. Sounds like an album title? Maybe one day. Capping it all off with a 3 hour marathon show at HOLLYWOOD bowl."
