KING DIAMOND Permanently Dedicates Performing "Black Horsemen" To Late Bassist Timi Hansen

"He's one of my best friends."

Ex-King Diamond and Mercyful Fate bassist Timi "Grabber" Hansen passed away on November 4 after his battle with cancer. Hansen played with King Diamond between 1985 and 1987, and with Mercyful Fate between 1981 and 1985, again between 1993 and 1994, and took part in both the 2008 and 2011 reunions.

Diamond is currently touring North America and, on the day Hansen passed away, dedicated the song "Black Horsemen" permanently to the late bassist. Here's what Diamond had to say about the show regarding Hansen's passing and the dedication.

"Most of you might already know that we lost Timi Hansen today — our old, old bass player from Abigail, and, before that, Mercyful Fate. It is super fucking sad that he's gone. He's one of my best friends. He's been my favorite bass player through the entire time I've known him. And we're gonna play this song for him tonight. And every single time that we play this song in the future is for him. 'Black Horsemen'."
