KHANATE Streams Archival Live Footage & Announces More Live Dates

Eternally crushing.

Khanate is forging one hell of a comeback this year. The band just released their first new album in 14 years To Be Cruel, their first show in nearly two decades for Roadburn 2024, and now there's even more happening.

Khanate is streaming four songs from their 2005 DVD Dead & Live Aktions alongside the announcement of two shows around Roadburn 2024. Better yet, Khanate is are also on the cover of The Wire's December issue. Reissues of Khanate's self-titled 2001 album, and 2003's Things Viral, arrive via Sacred Bones on December 1. Pre-orders for Khanate are available here and Things Viral here. Capture & Release and Clean Hands Go Foul reissues are forthcoming.

"As a collective, Khanate has been silent during our dormancy, but now we will get loud; very loud," said Khanate of their upcoming Roadburn 2024 performance. "We'll be returning to the stage, to explore tension and the elasticity of time – at Roadburn 2024. Get dead."

"We are incredibly proud that we can announce the return of Khanate as the starting point of Roadburn 2024," added Roadburn's artistic director, Walter Hoeijmakers. "The impact of the band can be found in the current underground as the band has proven highly influential – even during their hiatus.

"We want Roadburn 2024 to reflect our very own 'underground futurism' approach – inspired by the past but firmly looking into the future as well. We will be pushing boundaries of what heavy is and can be – just as Khanate has done too. We expect this to be a hallmark edition, a sonic adventure we'll embark on together."
