Former Of Mice & Men guitarist/vocalist Shayley Bourget has found a way to connect directly with the fans when making records. His band Dayshell's third album, Mr. Pain, was created through successful crowdfunding and that's exactly what he did for the band's fourth album, Pegasus, which was recorded after a successful GoFundMe raised over $50,000 from fans and listeners.
Pegasus is due out on September 22 as an independent release. Produced by Joey Sturgis, you can hear first single "You Wish" right now.
“Lyrically, the song touches on the darker side of the limelight," Bourget says. "One moment people love you, the next, they wish you didn’t exist. In the blink of an eye your friends can become your foes. Your dreams left shattered. This is a song about resilience. No matter how much hate. No matter how hard it is. Just keep rocking while they just keep wishing.”
