DAVE GROHL Streams The Only-Ever Live Performance Of His Massive Song "Play"

It's over 30 minutes long.

Dave Grohl is now streaming the only-ever live performance of his solo track "Play". The song was originally a 23-minute instrumental, and got blown out to be 36 minutes in its live rendition at the 30th Annual Christmas Jam and Benefiting Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity hosted by Warren Haynes. The live version of "Play" features keyboardist Greg Kurstin, guitarists Jason Falkner, Alain Johannes and Barrett Jones, bassist Chris Chaney and percussionist Drew Hester.

The full 30th Annual Christmas Jam will be released as The Benefit Concert Volume 20 featuring a whole slew of performances from artists like Eric Church, Joe Bonamassa, Gov't Mule, Mike Gordon, Marco Benevento, Jamey Johnson, Edwin McCain, Kevn Kinney, Tyler Ramsey, Scott Murawski, and Ron Holloway, along with Machan Taylor, Mini Carlsson, Mike Barnes, and Ray Sisk sitting in with Gov't Mule. The show was recorded on December 7 and 8, 2018, in Asheville, NC, the concert was not just a musical feat but also a significant charitable event, raising over $2.8 million for the Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity.

The Benefit Concert Volume 20 will be available physically on four different double vinyl volumes, 2-CD + DVD set, and 3-CD + 2 Blu-ray set, along with a digital-only format. Bundles are also available now to pre-order.
