There was a time when Married…with Children was one of the biggest shows on television, and Anthrax were one of the biggest bands in rock. So it was a very big deal when Anthrax appeared on a 1992 episode of the series, in its sixth season. It's one of the most mainstream acknowledgements of metal (that doesn't totally mock the genre) and hardly something you could really see happening today.
In celebration of Persistence of Time 30th anniversary reissue, drummer Charlie Benante recorded some thoughts on doing the show, and that time he took David Faustino to see Metallica. Take a look above.
