A few months ago, we gushed at the fact that one of our favorite bands, Mastodon would be scoring the DC-comic adaptation, Jonah Hex. While you could see the movie when it hits theaters tomorrow to hear a sampling of the music the band produced for the piece, why even bother? The Atlanta quartet have announced they will be releasing an EP of six tracks they submitted for the film on June 29th. According to the press release, "Mastodon recorded the tracks for Jonah Hex by viewing movie footage and actually composing the score spontaneously on the spot in the studio". Sounds killer! Can't wait to hear it.
