Demon Hunter – Peace/WarTHE WEEKLY INJECTION: New Releases From MARK MORTON, IN FLAMES, and More Out Today – 3/1

Genre: Alternative metal
Origin: Seattle, Washington
Label: Solid State

It's only been two years since Demon Hunter last dropped a record, and the band is already back with a pair of records. War and Peace combined give fans a total of twenty new powerful metal tracks. So if you're looking for some uplifting kinda-sorta metalcore tracks, you have not one but two albums of it from these guys this week.

Devil Master – Satan Spits On Children Of LightTHE WEEKLY INJECTION: New Releases From MARK MORTON, IN FLAMES, and More Out Today – 3/1

Genre: Black metal/punk
Origin: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Label: Relapse

I swear that I didn't put this RIGHT after Demon Hunter on purpose. It's kinda funny though. This is some blackened punk that's quite reverb laden. They seem to be fond of the devil.

In Flames – I, the Mask THE WEEKLY INJECTION: New Releases From MARK MORTON, IN FLAMES, and More Out Today – 3/1

Genre: Groove metal/alternative rock
Origin: Gothenburg, Sweden
Label: Nuclear Blast/Eleven Seven

The In Flames you knew is pretty much gone, however the In Flames that stands before us now is probably the best version of the modern alternative metal sound out there now. This is weird since they're been around longer than most the modern alternative metal bands have been alive. There are moments of the Gothenberg sound here and there like on both tracks that start with "I." I'll be honest, I haven't enjoyed an In Flames album this much in a while.

Mark Morton – Anesthetic THE WEEKLY INJECTION: New Releases From MARK MORTON, IN FLAMES, and More Out Today – 3/1

Genre: Groove metal
Origin: Richmond, Virginia
Label: Spinefarm

This album surprised me. I never expected a guest filled solo album from one of the Lamb Of God guys. Every track is very different and that's cool because each track tried to fit the vocalist. Your vocalists include Randy Blythe, Alissa White-Gluz, Mark Lanegan, and more including one of the final performances of Chester Bennington.

Queensryche – The Verdict THE WEEKLY INJECTION: New Releases From MARK MORTON, IN FLAMES, and More Out Today – 3/1

Genre: Progressive
Origin: Bellevue, Washington
Label: Century Media

Time is weird. Did you know Todd La Torre has been fronting Queensryche for a six years? That fucks me up. Anyway, this is his third record with the band, and their sixteenth overall of their signature proggy not-quite-power metal. Jordan has a full review here.

Twin Temple – Bring You Their Signature Sound…Satanic Doo-Wop THE WEEKLY INJECTION: New Releases From MARK MORTON, IN FLAMES, and More Out Today – 3/1

Genre: Satanic Doo-Wop
Origin: Los Angeles, California
Label: Rise Above

I'm going to address somethings up front. First this TECHNICALLY came out last year, but this is it getting a proper wide release today. Second, this is not metal. Instead this is feminist, satanic Doo-Wop. It's more metal than any blast beats you can throw down, any guttural vocals you can belch out, or any fuzzy ass riffs you can puff out.  Hail Twin Temple!

While She Sleeps – So What?THE WEEKLY INJECTION: New Releases From MARK MORTON, IN FLAMES, and More Out Today – 3/1

Genre: Alternative metal/metalcore
Origin: Sheffield, England
Label: Sleeps Brothers

This is some metalcore that I feel like I could dance to. Is that a bad thing? Metal purists probably will hate this, meh. Fuck it, lets dance. Leon has a review here.
