Hell of an album name, too.

Carach Angren will release their brand new full-length record Franckensteina Strataemontanus on May 29.

The album tells the story of German pietist theologian, alchemist and physician Johann Conrad Dippel, whose life includes rumors of experimentation with dead animals, nitroglycerin explosions, and controversial opinions on religion. Wikipedia adds "Dippel was born at Castle Frankenstein near Mühltal and Darmstadt, and therefore once at his school the addendum Franckensteinensis and once at his university the addendum Franckensteina-Strataemontanus was used." So there's the album name.

Here's what Carach Angren had to say.

"We are very proud to announce the release of our upcoming sixth album, Franckensteina Strataemontanus. On this album we resurrect the ghost of the infamous Johann Conrad Dippel and tell his story in a whirlwind of both horrible facts and fiction. Musically, there will be everything you have come to expect from us, taken to a whole new cinematic level. Get a taste of what is coming in the teaser below and prepare yourselves for the unearthing of our most ambitious album to date!"

Check out a teaser for the album below and expect a single soon! Franckensteina Strataemontanus will also be Carach Angren's final album with drummer Ivo "Namtar" Wijers, who recently left the band due to frustrations with the music industry.
